Way up the winding road of the Blue Ridge Parkway, nestled between tall trees and a babbling stream, perched on hole 7, stands The Castor Cabin. It’s a place to get lost and then found, to be bored and get inspired. A place to listen to the bonfire crackle, the record player purr, the birds sing, the tall trees whistle, or absolutely nothing at all. A place to spot the big dipper and the neighborly beaver. A place to disconnect to reconnect. Come up to getaway.

Valerie’s mountain home is straight out of a magazine. Beautifully decorated and well designed to make you feel comfortable and right at home. The space was inviting and allowed four kids, two dogs and three adults to enjoy the space in their own way. From the basketball hoop out front to the relaxing deck in back (with a gorgeous view of the 14th hole) to the spacious family room and game room upstairs, we were all able to enjoy the vacation in our own way. Big kudos to Valerie for her communication and beautiful home.

Valerie’s house In Wintergreen was perfect for our little family Easter getaway!! The house easily accommodated our family of four and would also work for 2 small families to vacation together since it had two primary bedrooms and two other bedrooms with shared bath. We enjoyed all the amenities the house had, loved the turntable, and our girls enjoyed the albums provided. We also got to use the fireplace as it was chilly while we were there and it added to the ambiance. The house was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Wintergreen or the blue ridge parkway!!

Valerie’s place was great! The cabin was stylish, well stocked (kitchen, toiletries, detergent), comfortable (furnishings, bedding), and had a layout that lent itself to both togetherness and privacy as needed. Plus, the option to bring your fur baby along! Doggie toy, bowls, bags, and crate available. The home was located within minutes of several hikes, including Upper Shamokin Falls. Valerie was also very helpful and accommodating in locating my kid’s stuffy after check out. Highly recommend Valerie’s place. My family and I will be staying here again!

What a excellent and lovey home this is! 5 out of 5!!! Our family of 7 (2 Adults 5 kids ages 17, 14, 12, 6 , 4) and our dog really enjoyed ourselves in Valerie’s home! It was very clean, cozy and there was plenty of space and activities for everyone inside the home. The kids really enjoyed the basketball hoop outside as well! Bedrooms were great and super comfortable! The game room up stairs was a hit and provided plenty of entertainment for the week! The house is fully stocked with everything you need! We cooked several meals and had everything we needed (pots, pans, silverware, dishes etc.). The location was great! Hats off to Valerie for being an incredible host with great communication. Perfect place for some rest and relaxation and very close to Wintergreen resort which was a plus! I recommend this home to everyone and look forward to returning for future vacations.

Valerie was great! Very responsive to any questions we had. Great location for skiing or if you decide you want to go in the spring and play golf. The beds were extremely comfortable! We felt like the place ours :-)! We will for sure do it again!

We are 5 minutes away from the ski slopes, an hour and 30 minutes from Richmond, 3 hours from DC/Maryland, and a short drive to numerous hiking, wineries, breweries, and biking trails.
